Check out our Two Fast Two Curious Race Car Birthday Party for ideas on decorations, food, cake, party favors, and toddler birthday outfits.
Two Fast… Two Curious! That is our son Greyson in a nutshell. We had the best time celebrating his second birthday with this adorable race car theme. See all links at the bottom on this post to create the same look or shop our Event Shop for a one stop shop for any of our parties!

Invitation
I always like to start planning a party theme with the invitation. I wanted a clean, modern design with unique, bold colors. We used our editable template through Etsy. I sent the invitation digitally but it can easily be printed at home or through a printer, like Walgreens. I recommend printing on card stock paper, especially for the tabletop signs and tags, if you are not putting them in a frame.
Decorations & Activities
We decorated the tables with racetrack tablecloth covers, tire paper plates, light blue and gray dinner napkins, and these adorable ‘Fuel’ drink cups, which we filled with orange juice for the kiddos.
We used a portable aluminum arch (super light weight!) and backdrop cover, along with the balloon garland and Two Fast Sign to bring a photo opportunity and backdrop decoration to the event. We made the balloon garland ahead of time and cut it into 3 sections (it was attached to a balloon garland strip) and then taped them to the arch, along with the sign. It was a super quick and easy setup. The large tire balloons are actually pool floats so those can be reused for a later date!
We wanted to dress the birthday boy on theme with the party so we ordered this custom race car jumpsuit from Etsy! He is just so cute, we let him play in it whenever he wants, as we can’t get enough of his cuteness! Even his baby brother joined in on the fun, with a matching race car onesie on the racetrack floor runner!
The party was thrown at The Children’s Museum of Wilmington, which is full of activities for toddlers and children, as well as fun, creative learning spaces. We had kids from ages one to seven and all equally loved the museum. It also kept the young kids easily contained and included party managers to help with set up and clean up.
Food & Dessert
We served Chick-fil-A, ‘Tires’ (donuts), Pirate Booty, squeeze packs, and Custom Cookies and Cake by Sooz Cakes. Chick- fil-A was a big hit for adults and children alike! We had a separate small cake for the birthday boy to dig into and cut the larger cake to serve to guests.
We printed these fun food signs to add to the race car theme and had them propped up with a catering card holders. Many people were able to take the cookies home as an extra party favor, since they come in the convenient clear bags by @soozcakes. Her cookies can be ordered ahead and shipped nationwide!
Party Favors
In addition to the sugar cookies by @soozcakes, we made custom race car crayon molds and printed the race car coloring page that we got from Etsy. Sign up below to receive the free race car coloring page printable.
Learn how to make your very own crayon molds in our How to Make Crayon Molds post for an excellent party favor or homemade gift. We printed the matching thank you card printable from Etsy and packed the crayons and coloring pages in these adorable race car gift bags.
