How to Make Toy Story ‘The Claw’
Step 1
First, we are going to start by making the claw part for the game.
Step 2
Start by taking two silver pipe cleaners and twist the ends together so that they form a circle.
Step 3
Now pick three points along the circle equally spaced apart and pinch them so that the spaces in between meet in the middle forming a “Y” shape. This will be your claw. Curve each claw just a little to resemble a grabbing claw from an arcade prize machine.
Step 4
Next, cut a piece of yarn about a foot long. Tie one end onto the center part of your pipe cleaner claw and the other end onto the tip of your straw/dowel.
Step 5
Last we’ll hot glue the small magnet to the bottom center of our pipe cleaner claw. You will then have a claw fishing pole with a magnet to pick up small metal objects!
Now it is time to make the little green aliens that we will use our claw to pick up!

Step 6
Start with some green foam paper. Cut a piece about 2” by 2”. Fold it in half.
Step 7
Using a pencil draw half of an oval on the folded edge along with half of an antenna on the top of the oval along the fold as well and a pointed ear on the side of the oval, opposite of the fold. Keep the paper folded and cut out your stencil.
Step 8
Unfold and clean up any parts that need it using your scissors. Now hot glue a washer to the back side of your alien head. This is what is going to attach our alien to the magnetic claw.
Step 9
Flip your alien head over and glue three google eyes on and draw a mouth with a sharpie.
Step 10
Repeat this process to make as many alien heads as you want.
