Check out all the details of our modern glam master bathroom renovation, including polished brass, acrylic, and vintage accents!
Design Concept
If you have been following us for awhile now, you probably know we love some glam in our home decor! One of my all time favorite interior designers is Alison Victoria from HGTV. I love modern decor mixed with vintage accents and of course brass! When designing the master bathroom of our North Carolina home, we wanted to marry these aspects within the design. Product links are at the bottom of the post! You can also shop each of our room looks here! We hope you love it as much as we do!

Shower
We went with a large format polished porcelain tile with a 3/4 staggered vertical layout. We ran the tile to the ceiling for a luxury finish. We used a unpolished hexagon matching tile for the floor with, that helps with slip resistance. We added our glam and vintage charge with the polished brass fixtures from Kingston Brass, including a ceiling rain shower head, pressure control shower head, and vintage hand shower.
We have a faceted hexagon/octagon theme carried throughout our home, which adds a modern element to each space. You can see this in our pendant lights in our Modern Kitchen Renovation post. We carried this theme into the bathroom with the shower floor tile, shower on/off lever/backplate, door knobs, and soaking tub.
Freestanding Tub
We went with a modern faceted tub from Kingston brass, with a vintage floor tub filler that we felt balances the modern shape so well! We switched out the overflow plate and drain plate to match the hardware.
Vanity
We wanted to create double sinks with more countertop space and a vanity, so we utilized the corner and kept the countertop at standing height for a modern look. I also find that I am almost always standing when I get ready, perhaps due to being a busy Mom of two! We went with a white quartz countertop and Dove colored soft closing custom cabinetry. These LED dimmable sconces are amazing! They are perfect for getting ready and provide an excellent light source for the bathroom. They also can be dimmed to create a relaxing ambiance while taking a bath.
Hardware
We wanted to add a little glam, or jewelry if you will, with the hardware, so we went with polished brass. We chose a modern take on a vintage style with the door knobs. We combined the backplate of this knob with the octagon crystal knob from this set, to create the look on the french doors. We replaced the door hinges and light switch plates with new polished brass accents.
The sink faucets are from Signature hardware and the cabinet hardware are sleek modern pulls and knobs from CB2.com. They have excellent hardware choices and a wide variety of brass options.
Accessories
It’s all in the details! We completed the look of the bathroom by switching out the floor vent, toilet lever, toilet paper holder, and towel bar to brass and acrylic finishes to match the rest of the hardware.
